In plain words

City Bank had a strong run from mid-2024 to mid-2026, rising from about ৳14 to a peak of ৳32.50 on 30 June 2026, its highest price in at least ten years. Since that peak the shares have slowly lost ground. From late August they have moved sideways in a narrow band between about ৳29.20 and ৳30.40, and today fell 1.7% to ৳29.30 after touching ৳28.90 during the session. The price is now below its 50-day average (the average closing price of the last 50 trading days, ৳29.95), which has started to slope down, but still above its 200-day average (৳28.04), which keeps rising. The stock is about 10% below its 52-week high. The levels that matter now are the band floor near ৳28.90–29.20 and the 200-day average just under ৳28.10 below, and the band top at ৳30.40 above.

Key levels

Support is where falling prices have paused before; resistance is where rises have stalled. For City Bank, ৳29.20 held every dip from September until today's brief move to ৳28.90. On the upside, ৳30.20–30.40 stopped each bounce, including the late-October jump. The ৳32.00–32.50 zone is the summer peak where the uptrend stalled.

Trend on each timeframe

The monthly chart still shows a long uptrend, with price above its rising 12-month average. The weekly chart has flattened, with momentum fading since summer. The daily and hourly charts lean down, with price under their shorter averages. So the long-term rise is intact on paper while the near-term charts show the advance has stalled.

Monthly Up

Monthly price ৳29.30 above the rising 12-month SMA (৳28.18); RSI 65.6 easing from near 80 earlier in 2026.
Monthly, ~10 years: SMA 12, RSI 14, volume

Each candle is one month over about ten years. The orange line is the 12-month average (৳28.18) and the lower panels show RSI (65.6) and volume. After years mostly between ৳13.50 and ৳19, City Bank climbed steadily from mid-2024, breaking above its 2018 high near ৳30 and reaching ৳32.50 in mid-2026 on heavy volume. The last four monthly candles are small with lower highs, and RSI has eased from overbought levels near 80, while price remains above the rising 12-month line.

Weekly Sideways

Price under the 10-week SMA (৳29.76), just above the 40-week (৳28.87); MACD 0.47 below signal 0.84 and falling.
Weekly, ~4 years: SMA 10/40, MACD, volume
Weekly, ~4 years: SMA 10/40, MACD, volume. Chart: TradingView.

Each candle is one week over about four years. The orange line is the 10-week average (৳29.76) and the blue line the 40-week average (৳28.87). Below are MACD and volume. The chart shows a staircase rally from about ৳14 in 2024 to ৳32.50 in late June 2026. Since then weekly candles have drifted lower and flattened between ৳29.20 and ৳31.80, and the 10-week line has turned down toward the still-rising 40-week line. MACD (0.47) has stayed under its signal line (0.84) since summer, with volume much lighter than during the advance.

Daily Down

Close ৳29.30 below the declining 50-day SMA (৳29.95); the 200-day SMA (৳28.04) is still rising below.
Daily, ~1 year: SMA 50/200, volume
Daily, ~1 year: SMA 50/200, volume. Chart: TradingView.

Each candle is one trading day over about a year. The green line is the 50-day average (৳29.95) and the purple line the 200-day average (৳28.04). Price rose from about ৳20.80 in December 2025 to ৳32.50 on 30 June 2026, with the biggest volume in February. From August it eased lower and has moved sideways between ৳29.20 and ৳30.40 since late August, below the 50-day line, which has rolled over. Today's ৳28.90 low is the lowest since early June.

Hourly Down

Hourly price ৳29.30 below EMA 20 (৳29.60) and EMA 50 (৳29.69); RSI 38.65 after a drop to ৳28.90.
Hourly, ~2 months: EMA 20/50, RSI, volume
Hourly, ~2 months: EMA 20/50, RSI, volume. Chart: TradingView.

Each candle is one trading hour over about two months. The orange line is the 20-hour exponential average (৳29.60) and the blue line the 50-hour one (৳29.69). For most of the period price stayed in a tight ৳29.30–30.30 band, with both averages flat. A burst on 22–25 October to ৳30.40 on heavy hourly volume faded. Today price fell sharply to ৳28.90 before recovering to ৳29.30, and both averages have turned down. RSI is 38.65, below the midline.

Momentum and volume

Momentum has softened. RSI, a 0–100 gauge of recent gains versus losses, is 39.9, below the halfway mark. Today's drop came on about 1.6 times normal volume, meaning selling was more active than usual. Bollinger Bands are very tight, which reflects unusually quiet trading over recent weeks.

Below are RSI (39.9), MACD and ADX/DMI. The June rally pushed price along the upper band to ৳32.50; from August it slid along the middle and lower band. Today's candle closed at the lower band. MACD sits flat on its signal line near zero, and -DI (30.0) jumped above +DI (17.5).

What would change the picture

Each scenario card names a closing level and what crossing it would mean for the chart's structure. They are conditions to watch, not predictions, and do not say which way the price will move.

If Daily close below ৳28.90
Price would leave the two-month band on the downside, with the 200-day average near ৳28.04 below.
If Daily close below ৳28.00
Price would sit under the 200-day average for the first time since the 2025 rally began.
If Daily close above ৳30.40
Price would clear the band top and the 50-day average, reopening the ৳32.00–32.50 zone.
